About the role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Merchant Banking Intern to join our dynamic team as we establish our new Merchant Banking firm in GIFT City. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about investment banking and capital markets, with a strong desire to contribute to the setup and growth of a cutting-edge financial institution. The selected candidate will work closely with our leadership team and assist in regulatory, business development, and transaction-related activities.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Coordination:
- Liaise with IFSCA, SEZ authorities, and other regulatory bodies for the licensing process and
compliance requirements. - Assist in ensuring the organization adheres to the guidelines and standards mandated by
GIFT City authorities. - Support the drafting and submission of regulatory documentation and follow up on
approvals.
Business and Financial Modelling:
- Develop financial models, including valuation and M&A models, to support deal analysis and
decision-making. - Conduct financial research and analysis to assist in investment decision processes.
Transaction Support:
- Assist in the IPO process, coordinating with issuers, legal counsel, and other merchant
banking teams. - Participate in the preparation of Offer Documents, ensuring compliance with relevant
guidelines. - Support in Equity & Debt syndication and other transaction-related activities.
Market Research & Documentation:
- Perform market and industry research to identify opportunities and trends.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for the creation of presentations,
reports, and deal materials.
General Responsibilities:
- Support the team in executing transactions, ensuring high levels of professionalism and
accuracy. - Build strong relationships with clients, partners, and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Background:
- CA/CS/CFA/MBA in Finance (pursuing or completed).
- Strong academic record and relevant coursework in finance, investment banking, or related
fields.
Skills:
- Proficiency in financial modelling, including DCF, comparable company analysis, and
precedent transaction analysis. - Strong understanding of IPO processes, equity markets, and debt markets.
- Familiarity with regulatory processes and requirements in GIFT City, SEZs, or similar
frameworks is a plus. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks.
